CPCU Event November 17th - Save the Date!

Join us for a collaborative session hosted by four CPCU Society Chapters featuring Gamma Iota Sigma (GIS), the international professional fraternity for students pursuing careers in insurance, risk management, and actuarial science.

During this presentation, Gamma Iota Sigma will share an overview of who they are, what they do, and how they support students as they prepare to enter the insurance and risk management industry. The discussion will also cover how GIS uses donations and industry support to further its mission, along with insights into the next generation of insurance professionals.

Congratulations to our 2026 PICPCU Chapter Scholarship Winners!

The PICPCU Board and Scholarship Committee are pleased to announce the recipients of the 2026 Presque Isle Chapter of the CPCU Society Scholarship.

This year, we received 10 completed applications, all of which were highly competitive. Following a blind review process, the committee selected two recipients. Each recipient will receive a $1,000 scholarship.

Karlee Berchtold

Karlee is pursuing her studies at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine and is the family member of Leanne Berchtold, an active Presque Isle CPCU Society Chapter member. She demonstrated outstanding academic achievement, graduating summa cum laude and earning Dean's List recognition. Her application also highlighted meaningful community involvement through organizations and activities including Centaur Stride, local food banks, soup kitchens, literacy programs, and Special Olympics coaching.

Nathan Vogt

Nathan is studying Actuarial Science at Penn State Behrend. While he is not a dependent of an active Presque Isle CPCU Society Chapter member, he qualified through his field of study and enrollment at a qualifying institution. Nathan demonstrated strong academic performance through High Honor Roll recognition, scholar-athlete honors, summa cum laude distinction, and student council leadership. His application also reflected valuable work experience and community involvement through food bank service and other school-related volunteer activities.

Both recipients have been invited to attend this year's Local Conferment. If you see them at the event, please join us in congratulating them and celebrating their accomplishments.
